Cultural section
The Swiss Embassy in Argentina actively promotes cultural relations between Switzerland and Argentina. The cultural section is responsible for communicating Swiss values and projecting the image of a modern and innovative Switzerland.
Mission of the cultural section
The activities carried out by the Embassy’s cultural section include organizing major events in collaboration with renowned artists and cultural institutions, promoting Switzerland’s cultural agenda in Argentina, and strengthening cultural exchanges between the two countries.
The Embassy works in partnership with and maintains ties to key partners such as Presencia Suiza (PRS), the Swiss House in La Boca, and the Swiss foundation Pro Helvetia, whose regional office supports Swiss artists and promotes exchanges between cultural professionals from Switzerland and Argentina.
The Embassy promotes its cultural events through a cultural newsletter and via posts on its Facebook, Instagram, X, and LinkedIn accounts. Inquiries regarding significant cultural projects may be directed to the Cultural Attaché at buenosaires@eda.admin.ch. Due to the high volume of inquiries, response times may be lengthy; requests will be addressed in order of priority.
Institutional support for third-party projects
The Embassy may provide institutional support for cultural projects of the highest quality that have a clear connection to Switzerland. To be eligible for potential institutional sponsorship from the Swiss Embassy in Argentina, the cultural project must:
- Demonstrate a high level of professional and artistic quality.
- Demonstrate clear ties to Switzerland, whether through the participating artists or the content of the work.
- Reach a large, well-defined audience and expect extensive media coverage.
- List the sources of funding, both local and Swiss.
- Comply with environmental and non-discrimination requirements.
Under no circumstances will the Embassy be able to provide support for:
- Activities involving vocational training or individual education.
- Projects aimed at infrastructure development or the acquisition of equipment.
If all these requirements are met, please submit an event profile that includes the title, synopsis, and the date and location of the event. If institutional support is provided, the Embassy’s support must be clearly indicated in the event’s promotional materials (logo on flyers, brochures, and digital publications).
